From Report To TV In Three Steps

1

Connect Power BI

Sign in with Microsoft or add a Service Principal, then browse to your workspace and report.

2

Set Up The Screen View

Pick the pages to show, set how long each one stays up, and add filters for each screen.

3

Keep It Running

OptiSigns renews access in the background and recovers on its own, so your TVs never land on a login page.

Power BI is available on Pro Plus and above. The 14-day free trial includes it.

Why Not Just Use A Laptop Or PowerPoint?

The usual workarounds put Power BI on a TV. They weren't built to keep it there all day.

Laptops sleep, install updates, and get borrowed for meetings
Browser sessions expire and end up on a sign-in page
Tabs need refresh extensions to stay current
PowerPoint loops stop when the deck closes or the network drops
“Publish to web” makes your report public to anyone with the link

Built For Power BI On Digital Signage

Microsoft sign-in

Connect with your Microsoft account. Screens only show reports that account can already see, with no public links.

Service Principal

Use a Microsoft Entra app instead of a personal account, including for Microsoft Fabric and Direct Lake reports.

Page rotation

Choose up to 20 pages from a report and set how long each one stays on screen.

Per-screen data

Match each screen's device attributes to your report filters, so one report shows every screen its own data.

Clean TV display

Reports appear full screen, without browser bars, filter panes, or page navigation.

Central management

Add reports to playlists and schedules, and update every screen remotely from one portal.

Keep The Numbers That Run Your Business In View

Production floors

The shift's scoreboard: output, quality, and safety KPIs where the team can still act on them.

Warehouses & logistics

See where orders are building up and what has to ship today.

Sales teams

Pipeline and targets on the wall all day, not just in the Monday meeting.

Finance & operations

One shared view of the numbers instead of yesterday's exported spreadsheet.

IT & service desks

Service health and ticket queues the whole team can see.

Built For Teams

Remote management and user roles make it easy to collaborate and control every screen without technical expertise.

Data Security

Industry-leading encryption, single sign-on, GDPR compliance, and AICPA SOC 2 Type II certification.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a laptop connected to every TV?

No. Power BI runs on OptiSigns players or the OptiSigns app on Android, Windows, and macOS. For large reports we recommend OptiSigns Pro players.

Will the dashboard time out or show a login screen?

No. You sign in once during setup, and OptiSigns renews access in the background. If that Microsoft account is disabled or its password changes, the screen shows a clear message telling you to reconnect.

How often does the dashboard update?

When a report is assigned directly to a screen, you set an update interval of 10 minutes or longer. In a playlist, it reloads each time it comes on screen. The data is as current as your dataset's refresh schedule in Power BI.

Can different screens show different data?

Yes. Add a device attribute to each screen in the OptiSigns portal, such as its region or store, and match it to the filter in your Power BI app. Each screen then shows its own data from the same report. See how to set it up.

Can I rotate pages or multiple reports?

Yes. Rotate up to 20 pages of one report, or use a playlist to rotate several reports alongside other content.

Do I have to make my report public?

No. OptiSigns uses Microsoft sign-in with read-only access, and your Microsoft password is never stored in OptiSigns. Your Microsoft admin may need to approve OptiSigns once for your organization.

Can we use a Service Principal instead of a personal account?

Yes, on Pro Plus and above. A team admin adds the connection once. The report's workspace must be on Fabric or Premium capacity.

Can I test it before rolling out?

Yes. Start a 14-day free trial (no credit card) and preview your report in the web player before adding screens.
